David has 32 years of extensive teaching experience. He has served as a Mathematics Lecturer at the University of Essex and Keele University. From 2006 to 2012, he focused on teaching A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics to local UK students, gaining a deep understanding of the structure, curriculum, and exam boards for A-Level Mathematics. David has also contributed to developing teaching guidelines for A-Level Mathematics in both the UK and international contexts, and he authored a textbook on A-Level Further Mathematics.

Beyond classroom teaching, David has years of experience in private tutoring and is skilled at tailoring his teaching to suit the individual needs and characteristics of his students. As a tutor, he helps students develop their reasoning and problem-solving skills to solve mathematical problems. He also aims to inspire his students to find joy in mathematics as he does.

David is highly experienced in preparing students for STEP, MAT, and TMUA, the entrance exams required by Oxbridge and other G5 universities. These exams test a student’s deep understanding of mathematical concepts, problem-solving abilities, and reasoning skills. Over the years, David has extensively researched these exams and their associated strategies. He co-authored the book STEP, MAT, TMUA: University Mathematics Admissions Exams Success Techniques, published by Hodder, to support students in overcoming these challenging assessments.
